Losing a loved one is never easy. Grief touches every person differently, and the journey of healing takes time. At Aspen Grove Hospice, we believe that caring for families extends beyond the patient’s final days. That’s why we provide bereavement support for at least 12 months following a loss.
These services are included as part of the hospice benefit for families of patients cared for by Aspen Grove Hospice. They are not offered as a separate program outside of our hospice services. If your loved one is on hospice with another provider, they would need to transfer their care to Aspen Grove to access this support.
Continuing Support After Loss
When hospice care ends, our team continues to walk alongside families. Our bereavement program includes:
- One-on-one grief counseling with trained professionals
- Support groups to connect with others who are grieving
- Educational resources to help families understand and process grief
- Phone support and check-ins to ensure no one feels alone
- Referrals to community or faith-based grief resources if additional support is needed
Support for Adults, Children, and Caregivers
Grief affects everyone differently; parents, spouses, children, and friends all experience loss in their own way. Our bereavement team provides age-appropriate support, including resources for children and teens, who may struggle to express their grief.

Speak With Our Hospice TeamWhy Bereavement Support Matters
The grieving process doesn’t follow a timeline. Families may experience sadness, relief, confusion, or even guilt after a loss. Bereavement care provides a safe space to share these feelings, learn healthy coping strategies, and begin the journey toward healing.
By supporting families after loss, Aspen Grove Hospice ensures that our circle of care continues long after the patient’s journey has ended.
